Japanese Shiga Ceramic Bowl, Charcoal with Drippy Glaze
Meet our Japanese Shigaraki Ceramic Bowl, Charcoal with Drippy Glaze, handcrafted by a craftsman in Shiga Prefecture in Japan. Located in Koka City, Shiga Prefecture, Shigaraki is one of Japan's six old kilns, with a history that goes back 1260 years. In 1976, Shigaraki-yaki (Shigaraki ware) was designated as a traditional craft in Japan. The kiln change effect used on the bowl was created by changing the temperature of the kiln during firing, in order to adjust the rate at which different glazes slowly drip down the sides from top to bottom.
The bowl is great for whisking and drinking matcha from or can be used as a rice or soup bowl.
It comes beautifully packaged in a branded box, thus perfect for gifting.
