Japanese Black Mino-Yaki Ceramic Square Plate
Meet our Japanese Black Mino-Yaki Ceramic Square Plate, handcrafted by ceramist Kudo Kou who works for the family business, Minamigama. Located in the eastern part of Toki City, Gifu prefecture, in the mountain town of Dachi, Minamigama is a major production center of Mino ware (美濃焼; Mino-yaki).
Kudo was born in Dachi, Toki-City, Gifu Prefecture in 1966 and graduated from the Tajimi City Ceramic Design Insitute in 1991. At Minamigama, he studied under his father Rikuo Kudo. He is certified as a traditional Mino ware craftsman in 2005.
