Japanese Ceramic Tea Cup with Silver Swirl

Meet the Japanese Ceramic Tea Cup with Silver Swirl by Shiga-based ceramic artist Norikazu Ogawa, featuring a softly crazed white matte surface accented with a hand-applied silver-painted interior.

The delicate network of fine crackling lends depth and texture to the otherwise quiet white surface, while the luminous silver introduces a subtle sense of movement and contrast. Each silver swirl is applied by hand, creating gentle variations from one cup to another. The restrained exterior allows the reflective interior to become the focal point, catching and shifting with the surrounding light.

With use and exposure to air, the silver will naturally oxidize and develop a deeper, more nuanced patina over time, an evolving surface that becomes part of the character of the piece. 

Suitable for serving tea, sake, or other small pours.

Each cup is sold individually. Due to the handmade nature of the pieces, slight variations in shape and size are to be expected. One cup is slightly wider than the other, reflecting the individual character of each piece.
