Japanese Minoyaki Ceramic Sgraffito Mug

Meet our Japanese Minoyaki Ceramic Sgraffito Mug, wheel-thrown and handcrafted in Higashi Mino, Gifu Prefecture, Japan. Sgraffito refers to a decorating technique where layers of color (like underglaze or slip) are applied to a pottery piece, and then scratched or carved away to reveal the contrasting colors underneath, often the clay body itself. 

Each cup comes packaged beautifully in a cardboard box, thus perfect for gifting.

As with all handmade pieces, each piece has a slightly unique character and varies in size, color and texture.
