Japanese Onta-Yaki Hakeme Ceramic Bowl
Meet our Japanese Onta-Yaki Hakeme Ceramic Bowl, handcrafted and fired in the Sakamoto Kogama kiln, located in the mountains of Hita City, Oita Prefecture, Japan. Onta-yaki is made by observing the tradition of being handed down from generation to generation. Based on traditional techniques such as hakeme (brush marks) used on this bowl or tobikana (chattering), the light and easy-to-use vessels are a true embodiment of the Japanese folk art. All Onta-Yaki pottery is fired in a climbing kiln.
