Meet the Japanese Shigaraki Bowl in the Shape of Cracked Japanese Pepper, wheel-thrown and handcrafted in Shiga Prefecture in Japan. Located in Koka City, Shiga Prefecture, Shigaraki is one of Japan's six old kilns, with a history that goes back 1260 years. In 1976, Shigaraki-yaki (Shigaraki ware) was designated as a traditional craft in Japan. 

Handcrafted in Shigaraki, Japan, this sculptural bowl draws inspiration from the organic form of a cracked pepper pod opening to reveal its center.

Its petal-like walls unfold outward in a striking silhouette, and the dramatic form balances elegance with rusticity, reflecting Shigaraki’s longstanding appreciation for natural materials and imperfect beauty.
