Meet the Japanese Shigaraki Ceramic Katakuchi Bowl in Black Glaze, handcrafted in Shigaraki, Japan. Located in Koka City, Shiga Prefecture, Shigaraki is one of Japan's six old kilns, with a history that goes back 1260 years. In 1976, Shigaraki-yaki (Shigaraki ware) was designated as a traditional craft in Japan.
Katakuchi, meaning "one-sided mouth" in Japanese is a bowl with a spout on one side, used for pouring liquid. These bowls can be used to whisk and pour matcha or to pour sake, sauces, dressings or soup broth. It can also be used to cool water for green teas.
Each bowl comes beautifully packaged in a branded box, thus perfect for gifting.
