Japanese Shigaraki Ceramic Wabi Mug with Circular Pattern
Meet our Japanese Shigaraki Ceramic Wabi Mug with Circular Pattern, handcrafted by craftsmen in Shiga Prefecture in Japan. Located in Koka City, Shiga Prefecture, Shigaraki is one of Japan's six old kilns, with the history that goes back 1260 years. In 1976, Shigaraki-yaki (Shigaraki ware) was designated as a traditional craft in Japan.
Wax resist was used to draw the circular pattern -- the method involves using wax to create a design that prevents glaze from adhering to those areas during firing.
Each mug comes beautifully packaged in a paper box, thus perfect for gifting.
