Meet the Japanese Shigaraki Dobin 土瓶 Teapot with Rattan Handle & Circular Brushwork Detail, handcrafted in Shiga Prefecture in Japan. Located in Koka City, Shiga Prefecture, Shigaraki is one of Japan's six old kilns, with a history that goes back 1260 years. In 1976, Shigaraki-yaki (Shigaraki ware) was designated as a traditional craft in Japan.

The surface is finished with a natural ash glaze, resulting in a unique texture.

Each teapot comes beautifully packaged in a paper box, thus perfect for gifting.

dobin" (土瓶) refers to a type of teapot; it is a larger, earthenware teapot with a handle that attaches to ceramic lugs on the top. Dobins are traditionally used to serve tea, especially for larger groups, and are also known as Uwade no kyusu (上手の急須), meaning "top hand teapot".

Pairs perfectly with its matching tea cup.
