Japanese Shigaraki Hand-painted Vase

Regular price $100.00 USD

Meet the Japanese Shigaraki Vase, wheel-thrown and hand-painted in Shiga, Japan.Located in Koka City, Shiga Prefecture, Shigaraki is one of Japan's six old kilns, with the history that goes back 1260 years. In 1976, Shigaraki-yaki (Shigaraki ware) was designated as a traditional craft in Japan.

Its rounded silhouette is adorned with freehand cobalt brushwork, reminiscent of swirling vines and tendrils. The vase carries a sense of movement and spontaneity that highlights its handcrafted nature.

Subtle speckles and variations in the glazed surface reveal the warmth of the handmade process, while the narrow neck is perfectly suited for a single stem.

A small object with a gentle presence, equally beautiful displayed on its own or with a simple floral arrangement.
