Handcrafted in Shigaraki, Japan, this thoughtfully designed ceramic vessel serves as both a ladle holder ((お玉立て; otama tate) and a katakuchi-style pouring vessel. Originally intended as a resting place for a cooking ladle, its integrated pouring lip also allows it to be used for serving sauces, dressings, broths, or other liquids.

The raised upper section gently supports the thumb while pouring, providing a comfortable and secure grip that makes the vessel feel natural in the hand. This subtle design detail reflects the quiet ingenuity often found in Japanese utilitarian ceramics, where beauty and function exist in harmony.
