Located in Koka City, Shiga Prefecture, Shigaraki is one of Japan's six old kilns, with the history that goes back 1260 years. In 1976, Shigaraki-yaki (Shigaraki ware) was designated as a traditional craft in Japan.

Kindly note, there are cracks near the handles which is seen as natural and often as a desirable character in Shigaraki ware, in Japanese wabi sabi aesthetics.
