Japaneses Yukizasa Tetsuki-bachi Handled Ceramic Bowl

A Japanese tetsuki-bachi, or handled bowl handcrafted in Kyoto, Japan, featuring an expressive Yukizasa surface. Its softly rounded body is formed with an irregular, undulating rim, while a tall arched handle gives the compact vessel a sculptural silhouette.

Layers of smoky gray, charcoal, cream, and earthy clay overlap across the surface in loose, spontaneous markings. The name Yukizasa (雪笹), suggesting snow against bamboo grass, beautifully echoes the pale, scattered pattern that moves across the darker ground.

Both functional and sculptural, the handled form can hold a small arrangement of seasonal flowers or gathered objects, while remaining equally compelling displayed on its own.
