Korean Buncheong Mini Moon Jar, Moon Motif

Meet our Korean Buncheong Mini Moon Jar with Crane Motif, wheelthrown and handcrafted by a ceramist in Korea. The full moon (달) is a symbol of life's essence, the passage of time, embodying abundance and fortune in its luminous splendor. This mini moon jar was fired in a kiln after being dipped in white clay slip, a technique called Dumbung Buncheong (덤벙분청) which is unique to Korea, and then glazed with transparent glaze and fired in the kiln for the second time. 

The moon writing is painted by hand in 12k gold.

There is ceramist's hallmark on the lower bottom of the jar.
