Korean Buncheong Teapot with Bamboo Handle
A beautifully understated Korean buncheong teapot, characterized by its rounded form, warm ivory-white surface, and naturally speckled finish, hand-crafted by Hunseong Jang in Icheon, Korea. The soft, irregular glaze allows glimpses of the darker stoneware clay beneath, giving the piece the quiet, organic character associated with traditional buncheong ceramics.
The teapot features a short pouring spout, fitted lid, and an overhead handle wrapped in natural bamboo. A built-in perforated strainer at the base of the spout makes it well suited for brewing loose-leaf tea. Exposed dark clay around the foot and rim provides a subtle contrast to the creamy exterior, while variations in the glaze and hand-formed construction make the piece distinctly individual.
Elegant yet unpretentious, this teapot embodies the Korean ceramic appreciation for simplicity, functionality, and the beauty of imperfection. A tactile and sculptural piece equally suited to tea service or display.
Dimensions: approx. W 4.25" x L 4" x H 4" (from bottom to the lid) or H 5.5" (from bottom to the handle)
Handcrafted in Korea.
