Korean Buncheong/Celadon Ceramic High-Footed Cup
Meet the Korean Buncheong / Celadon High-Footed Cup, wheel-thrown and hand-crafted by ceramist Seungki Min in Icheon, Korea.
The Buncheong cups are finished with a brushed layer of white slip—one of the defining techniques of Korean Buncheong ware—before being coated in a transparent glaze and fired again. This layered process creates a soft, milky surface with subtle movement and depth.
The celadon cups, by contrast, are formed from fine clay and coated in an iron-rich glaze, then fired at high temperatures in a reduction atmosphere. As oxygen is reduced within the kiln, the glaze transforms into its signature green tone, carrying a quiet depth with gentle variations that reveal the flow of glaze during firing.
Raised on a high foot, the form offers a sense of lightness and balance in hand—well suited for serving sake, soju, or tea.
There is potter's mark on the bottom of each cup.
Kindly note, each piece is sold individually.
