Korean Wood-fired Lidded Vessel with Bird Motif
Meet the Korean Wood-fired Lidded Vessel with Bird Motif, wheel-thrown and fired in a wood-firing kiln by Kimo An of Tousanyo in Gimhae, South Korea.
Earthy and sculptural, this vessel features a textured dark brown body with hand-carved and inlaid white slip motifs - a stylized bird in flight across the lid and abstract crosses around the sides. The raw, almost bark-like surface evokes the tactile warmth of natural clay, while the white slip designs bring a sense of ritual and symbolism.
Perfect as a storage jar, keepsake box or simply as a sculptural object, it embodies a primitive elegance that feels both ancient and modern.
Dimensions: Ø 4.3" x H 4.5"
