Nanao Japanese Candle Set
Meet TAKAZAWA's Nanao Japanese Candle Set, handcrafted by a family run business in Ishikawa, Japan, who has been creating traditional Japanese candles, also known as 'wa-rousoku', in the same way since 1892. This set includes 5 distinct sculptural candles, neatly packaged in a paper box, thus perfect for gifting.
Pairs well with Takazawa's candle holder, featured in the photo and which is sold separately.
These candles are made of plant-based wax that generates less soot than others.
Materials: Haze (sumac) wax
The wax harvested from sumac trees, called Haze, originally came from Ryukyu (Okinawa) in the Edo period (1603 - 1868). Haze trees are found in Western Japan and have been bred specifically for candle-making.
Dimensions: candles W .5" (1.5cm) x H 3" (7.5cm)
Burning time: 110 minutes per candle
Made in Japan.
