Korean Wood-Fired Ash-Glazed Pouring Vessel with Sanggam Inlaid Birth Patterns
Meet the Korean Wood-Fired Ash-Glazed Pouring Vessel with Sanggam Inlaid Birth Patterns, wheel-thrown and fired in a traditional wood-firing kiln by Kimo An of Tousanyo in Gimhae, Korea.
The teapot features a richly textured body in gray with bird motif using sanggam inlay technique, where contrasting clay is embedded into carved bird patterns. Ash splattering from the wood firing adds depth and character to the form, while the warmth and presence achieved through this process bring a grounded, tactile quality to the tea ritual.
The potter’s mark is hand-carved on the underside.
Dimensions: approx. ⌀ 3.6" (9cm) x H 3.8" (9.5cm)"
