Tokyo Kodo First Collection Incense & Holder Set
Meet the Tokyo Kodo First Collection Incense Set, a thoughtfully composed introduction to scent as a quiet, sensory ritual.
Fragrance, though unseen, moves gently through space—each note carefully blended to unfold with time. This assorted set brings together six fragrances from Tokyo Kodo’s First Collection, offering a moment to experience scent in its most intimate form.
Blending Western perfumery with Japan’s traditional incense-making, the collection is designed by Chikako and crafted in Japan using materials sourced from Grasse in the south of France. Each variation carries its own character—from soft florals to warm woods—inviting a slow exploration of scent and memory.
Each fragrance within the First Collection carries a distinct narrative, shaped by memory, place, and material.
Love Carrot, the first and most personal creation by Chikako, is inspired by her time studying perfumery in Grasse. Drawn to the unique scent of carrot seed oil—earthy, softly floral, and green—it is layered with bright orange, patchouli, sweet vanilla, and creamy Indian sandalwood to create a complex, quietly sophisticated composition.
Mimosa is crafted using a high-quality mimosa absolute sourced from the South of France. Soft and luminous, it evokes the warmth of spring sunlight along the Côte d’Azur, leaving a gentle sense of calm.
Wisteria Du Japon reflects a flower shared between Japan and France. Fresh, green, and lightly floral, the scent carries a quiet brightness, recalling the graceful presence of wisteria in bloom.
Lavender Elysium draws from the expansive lavender fields of France. Blended with sandalwood, it offers a sense of stillness—like standing at the center of a field, surrounded by soft, aromatic air.
Murmure De La Forêt is rooted in memory. Inspired by Chikako’s childhood, it brings together the richness of wooded notes, recalling the scent of trees and the quiet depth of agarwood.
Lotus Du Japon carries a soft, powdery floral note with a gentle sweetness. Blooming from muddy waters, the lotus holds symbolic meaning—an expression of beauty, resilience, and quiet transformation.
Packaged in a gold-toned sliding box inspired by the movement of smoke, the set includes two pieces of each of the six incense variations, along with a brass incense holder and a fireproof incense sheet. Compact and considered, it is well suited for travel, gifting, or for those beginning their journey with incense.
Each stick burns for approximately 15 minutes, offering a brief, intentional pause within the day.
