Wood-fired Ash-Glaze Ceramic Tea Cup, Mossy Green & Gray
Meet the Wood-fired Ash Glaze Ceramic Tea Cup, wheel-thrown by potter Hugh of Woodland Hills Pottery in Andes, New York, in the Catskills Mountain Region.
Formed by hand and shaped through flame, this tea cup by Woodland Hills Pottery carries the quiet marks of its making. The natural ash from the kiln settles on the clay surface during firing, creating a textured skin of soft grays and subtle greens — each cup entirely unique, born of fire and chance.
Its organic form rests comfortably in the hand, with a raw exterior that contrasts the smooth, glazed interior. A reflection of the wabi-sabi spirit, it invites stillness and presence with every pour.
