Wood-fired Ash Glaze Ceramic Tea Cup

Regular price $80.00 USD

Meet the Wood-fired Ash Glaze Ceramic Tea Cup, wheel-thrown by potter Hugh of Woodland Hills Pottery in Andes, New York, in the Catskills Mountain Region.

Wood-fired pottery such as this tea cup often features ash deposits because wood ash melts and flows onto the pottery surface, creating unique glaze effect and textures. The ash, generated during the combustion of wood, is carried through the kiln by the flames and settles on horizontal surfaces.

Hugh's potter's mark "hp"is engraved on the bottom of the tea cup.

Dimension: 3.75" x H 2"

Non-toxic glaze. Food-safe.
