Wood-fired Ash-Glazed Ceramic Vase
Meet the Wood-fired Ash-Glazed Ceramic Bud Vase, wheel-thrown by potter Hugh of Woodland Hills Pottery in Andes, New York, in the Catskills Mountain Region.
This vase has a beautifully organic, wabi wabi quality. Its form is compact and slightly rounded, tapering to a narrow neck that flares subtly at the rim - reminiscent of a small sake or bud vase. The ash deposits, uneven glaze melting and ares of reduction give it depth and character.
It feels earthy yet refined - a piece that captures the dialogue between control and chance.
Hugh's potter's mark "hp"is engraved on the bottom of the vase.
Dimension: opening ⌀ 1.5" x W 4.5" x H 6.5"
