Meet Japanese Tokoname Ceramic Pour-Over Coffee & Kyushu Tea Pot, Copper Brown, handcrafted by craftsman from Mitsumatsu kiln in Tokoname City, Aichi Prefecture, the historic center of kyusu production.

Pairs well with mugs made of same color tokoname clay found here.

Tokoname ware has a history of 1000 years, producing unglazed earthenware during the end of the Heian period and is one of the six oldest kilns in Japan. Tokoname ware includes everyday utensils such as yama chawan, lipped bowls, pots and Jars, and since the later half of the Edo period, tea utensils.

Each coffee & tea pot is handmade by craftsmen, from the molding of the body, lid, spout, tea strainer, and handle to the final firing process. The tea strainer is made of mesh ceramic that has no metallic smell and brings out the aroma and flavor of the coffee and tea to the fullest. Also a fine mesh filter in the basket net style that is 5 times finer than tea strainer is also included for brewing coffee; no paper filter is to be used.

The more you use the coffee & tea pot, the deeper its color and luster will get over time, making it even more charming. It comes packaged in a beautiful box, thus perfect for gifting. Below the handle is engraved potter's mark.
